In 2021, the film-going public will be able to catch a glimpse of the magical wizarding world from the comfort of their living rooms.
From the Harry Potter books to the live-action Harry Potter films, new movies from the Warner Bros. animation house, including Ratatouil, Harry Potter, and The Goblet of Fire, will be released to the public in 2021.
But not everyone is going to want to watch these new movies live.
While some may be willing to shell out an extra £1.50 or more for a home cinema subscription, others might not want to get a taste of the new magical world until 2019, the year that is traditionally when new films are released.
As we move into the 2020s, we’ll see how popular live-to-stream services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, and Vudu become in 2021, and if those services become popular enough to be a factor in 2021 sales of the films.
The Warner Bros., Paramount, and Disney Animation studios are among the studios that have invested in the subscription streaming services, and it will be interesting to see if they are able to make the leap to the big screen in 2021 and beyond.
