Affleck will play the villainous Joker in Justice League Part One, but it is not clear how the story will go from there.
Afflleck is currently shooting Justice League: Dark Knight Rises.
Sources say Affleck has yet to finalize his deal with Warner Bros., but he is confident that a deal will be struck with Afflills reps and the studio.
Affleck has not been shy about his disdain for DC Comics over the years.
He was one of the first actors to boycott Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the movie that followed the events of Batman v.
Superman: The Dark Knight.
Affillleck, who has a history of controversial statements, tweeted that he is disappointed in the current state of the DCU and the lack of diversity in the superhero genre.
